Help Shape Dementia Support in Birmingham

If you are living with dementia or support a family member who has dementia, join this online event on Wednesday 13th July 2022, 1.30pm – 3.00pm, to give your views on Birmingham and Solihull’s draft Dementia Strategy 2022-2027. The event is Via Microsoft Teams and you can register to attend via this Eventbrite link.

If you are worried about developing dementia yourself, you can still contribute to refining the key priorities and goals of dementia services in Birmingham and Solihull.

The focus will be to improve care and support for citizens, starting with activities aimed at preventing dementia, through to care at the end of people’s lives.

The strategy outlines four fundamental priorities:

  • Information which focuses on prevention of dementia, early intervention and support.
  • Access to a timely diagnosis with pre-diagnostic and post-diagnostic support
  • Prevention of crisis and supporting people with dementia, their families and communities.
  • Improving the quality of personalised care and support planning for people with dementia, including planning for the end of life.

What if I can’t make the event on 13 July?
