What’s your Opinion of Online and Video Consultations with GP Practices?

The Black Country and West Birmingham CCG and local GP practices are investigating which technology can help to improve patient access to GP services and extend patient choice.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, GP services have adapted to new ways of working online that were previously unconventional, but essential in providing safe access to medical consultations during that time.

By carrying some of these virtual tools forward as we adjust to a “new normal”, GP practices will be able to offer patients more ways in which they can access the service and how they consult with their GP, nurse, or healthcare professional.

This could mean choosing to have a video consultation or another online consultation tool such as an online form, using a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet access, when it is helpful and convenient. You would still be able to ask for a face-to-face appointment in the normal way when you want to.

Whether or not you have experienced video consultations or online consultations with your GP practice, your views on what you think about potentially accessing consultations in such ways is very welcome.

Please complete this short survey to express what things are important to you and what you would want or expect from an online consultation.
