NEW Weekly Dementia Support Groups

Birmingham Carers Hub offers a range of support to those who look after someone living with dementia. We have three delivery partners (Age Concern BirminghamAge UK Birmingham and Dementia Carers Count) who together form the Dementia Carers Hub. With the expertise of our health professionals, trained advisors and welcoming group leads, you will be guided and supported throughout your caring journey.

Earlier this year, we launched free support groups where dementia Carers could connect with others who are on a similar journey. Each week, Carers can gain practical support, get advice from qualified dementia advisers, information from guest speakers and wellbeing support through planned activities. The meeting usually lasts for about two hours and includes free refreshments.

During the second week of September, three more support groups started for those who look after someone close to them living with dementia. Support groups launched in Selly Oak, Acocks Green, and in Sutton Coldfield, with more groups launching in the coming months.

There’s no need to book, just come along to your nearest group. Please note that this is a time just for you, so please make alternative care arrangements. Groups are based across the constituencies of Birmingham. Here’s a list of current dementia support groups.
