Carers, Have You Had Your Flu Vaccination yet?

Who should have the flu vaccine?
The flu vaccine is recommended for people at higher risk of getting seriously ill from flu.

You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:

  • have certain long-term health conditions
  • are pregnant
  • live in a care home

Carers are eligible for a free flu jab
All carers are eligible for the free flu jab which helps protect against serious or life-threatening illness. Now is a great time to protect yourself against flu, especially as Birmingham NHS services are seeing many more adults and children with flu than this time last year.

How to book your free flu jab
You can book your flu vaccination appointment online, or through the NHS app. You can also contact your GP surgery to book an appointment, or find a pharmacy that offers NHS flu vaccination.

Visit the NHS website to find out more about the flu vaccine.

This winter the Covid-19 vaccine is also available for those most at increased risk of serious illness – visit the NHS website to check if you’re eligible and find out how you can get your Covid-19 vaccine.”

Remember to inform your GP that you are a Carer so that you can be added to their Carer’s Register.
