What is the group?
Our aim is to provide holistic support to carers for their physical, mental, emotional and psychological wellbeing.
We believe that a healthy, happy and emotionally stable person can provide better care and support to others.
Our focus is on promoting encouraging good holistic health, resilience, strength and self-esteem in carers who often neglect their wellbeing and social needs.
We aim to reach out to those who are in isolation due to poor health, stressed by care duties or missing out on social contact with friends.
Tuesday: 1:30 – 3:30 soon after the Tai-chi or Yoga.
We decided to name ourselves as ‘ The CUBS’ short for (Carers United Birmingham South) but in essence we stand for COURAGE, UNITY, BRAVERY, and SINCERITY.  The name includes South because we are based in the south though not limited to members from south only.  Carers come to our group from North, East, West and South.
The group (mainly women) comprises of carers who provide care and support at home to their loved ones, friends or relatives.  Some of them, having lost the person who they provided care for, are now in need of care and support for their own well-being.
Where? We are based at the Birmingham Buddhist Centre, 11, Park Road, Moseley Birmingham, B13 8AB
When? Holding a session on alternative Tuesdays at the Buddhist Centre from 1:30 – 3:30, runs after the Tai-chi/Yoga at Buddhist Centre (some carers like to attend the tai chi first and then join the group after).
