As part of Dementia Action week, we are running a series of workshops across the week to help raise awareness of the support available.

Admiral nursing services offer specialist dementia nursing support to family carers with multiple and complex care needs, using a range of therapeutic interventions.

Admiral Nurse, Tracy Muzondo will explain how the service works with carers in identifying areas of difficultly they are having in their carer role, and helping them to manage this effectively.

Interventions they provide include, psychological interventions, short-term solution focused therapy, behavioural family therapy or longer term bereavement/loss counselling.

The service runs a 5 week ‘Caring in Dementia Group’ which provides information, advice and support about caring for a person with dementia. The group offers the chance to meet with and share experiences with other carers.

Paulette Clarke will also join this session to tell carers all about the Memory Assessment Service.

Come along to this information session to find out more and how the Admiral Nurses and the Memory Assessment Service can support you.

Space will be limited and offered to registered Carers with Birmingham Carers Hub. Book your free place by registering on Eventbrite here.
