Carers Wellbeing Break: Overnight Stay

Date

Tuesday 20 August 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Cost: Free

Enjoy the chance to step away from your caring role and give yourself some space to breathe, reconnect to yourself and spend some time with other carers in an idyllic setting in the countryside south of Birmingham. There is a programme of optional wellbeing activities on offer, alongside very tasty meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Travel and accommodation also provided free of charge to carers (coach travel from Moseley)

Carers Wellbeing Breaks are organised by Birmingham Buddhist Centre, who have been supporting carers for nearly 20 years. The project is secular and welcomes all faiths, backgrounds and genders. There is a range of day breaks, overnight stays and weekend stays organised per year to try and accommodate everyone’s needs. Carers are welcome to attend one per year although priority will be given to those who haven’t been before.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: must live in Birmingham and be a current carer, and be registered or willing to be registered with Birmingham Carers Hub

Feedback from carers:
“I feel like I am recharged and rested and ready to face the week ahead.”
“I don’t get the space to choose at home and being able to sleep and join in when I wanted to was incredible”
“Thank you for the gift of being cooked for and cleared up after”
