Express Yourself Through Art – Free Art Workshops for Carers

As part of Forward Carers’ 10-Year Anniversary, we invite Carers to explore their creativity through Free Art Workshops. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, these sessions provide a supportive space to express your journey through painting, drawing, or mixed media. There is also a chance to express yourself with Creative Writing workshops which can be booked separately here (further details are available below).

Parking Information: Secure parking, including spaces for parents and Blue Badge holders, is available at Sense TouchBase Pears. The car park is located behind the building and accessed via Selly Wharf. Entry is controlled by barriers and an intercom system.

Public Transport:

  • By Train: Selly Oak train station is a two-minute walk from the venue.
  • By Bus: The venue is situated on Bristol Road and is accessible via main bus routes to and from Birmingham city centre.

Bus Routes:

Sense TouchBase Pears can be reached by a number of bus services that stop nearby on the Bristol Road. The 61 and 63 buses both stop on Eliot Road and at Selly Oak train station and run roughly every ten minutes throughout the day. These bus routes take you into or out of the city centre or in the opposite direction towards Longbridge. Buses stop immediately outside of the Sense TouchBase Centre

✍️ Creative Writing Workshops Also Available

Alongside the art workshops, we are also running Creative Writing Workshops, giving Carers the chance to express their experiences through poetry, short stories, or personal reflections. Written pieces can also be submitted for the Carers Art & Writing Display at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.
