But if someone depends on you for help they can’t manage alone\, you’re also an unpaid Carer—and there’s support and advice available for you. \nMen often face unique challenges in their caring roles. They may find it harder to express emotions or ask for help\, which can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation. Meeting with other men in similar situations can be a lifeline\, helping you feel less alone and more supported. \nMeet Neil\nNeil\, from Birmingham\, balances part-time work with caring for his elderly Dad and his brother\, who has a learning disability. Laptops will be available for you to use\, or you can bring your own phone\, tablet or laptop. \n\nFind out how to apply for your FREE Carers ID Card with support with the online form\nFind out how to use Bridgit – Birmingham Carers Hub’s virtual assistant for Carers\nLearn how to book on eventbrite so that you can access free events for Carers\nLearn how to use Zoom so that you can join online Carer support groups and chats\nLearn how to use Birmingham Carers Hub’s Benefits Calculator to find out what state benefits you are entiled to\nFind out how to download and use the NHS App\nPlus ask anything else you would like to know to help you get digitally connected.\n\nThe morning session is 10 am until 12 noon and the afternoon session is 12.30 pm – 2.30 pm – you do not need to stay for the whole session\, just drop-in between those times to get advice. DESCRIPTION:Members of the Forward Carers team will be available if you would like to pick up some information leaflets\, collect your pre-ordered Carers ID Card\, or collect a SIM card. We are unable to provide specific advice but we will be able to tell you what Carer support and activities are available and point you in the right direction to access support. Just call in and say hello. \nOur drop-ins will be available at our Carer’s Hub at TouchBase Pears in Selly Oak. The drop-ins will be the second Tuesday of the month\, 10.00 am – 12 noon and the fourth Thursday of the month\, 3.00 pm – 5.00 pm. If you have any queries about the Carer Friendly ID Card\, please contact carerfriendly@carerfriendly.org.uk \nThere is another Carer Drop-in on the Fourth Thursday of the month between 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm at Carer’s Hub\, TouchBase Pears\, 750 Bristol Rd\, Selly Oak\, Birmingham B29 6NA.
