If you help someone living with Dementia in Birmingham, you are not alone — Birmingham Dementia Carers Hub is here to support you.
Dementia Action Week (19th–25th May 2025) is a time to raise awareness, improve understanding, and ensure that Carers know where they can turn for help. As a Carer, you play a vital role in the life of someone living with Dementia, and we want you to know that specialist support is available for you across Birmingham.

At Birmingham Carers Hub, we offer a range of tailored services designed to make your caring journey a little easier:
- – 1:1 Advice, Information, and Guidance: Expert support from our dedicated Dementia advisers to help you navigate services and entitlements.
- Specialist Training: Workshops and sessions to build your confidence and knowledge in caring for someone with Dementia.
- Peer Support Groups: Connect with other Carers who truly understand your experiences in a welcoming environment.
- Carer Wellbeing Support: Access to respite opportunities, wellbeing activities, and Carer grants to maintain your health and wellbeing.
- Emergency Planning Support: Assistance in creating a contingency plan to ensure peace of mind for you and your loved one.
- Dementia Awareness Sessions: Increase your understanding of Dementia and how it affects daily life.
- Information and Resource Packs: Practical tools and local signposting to services across Birmingham.
- Drop-in Support Services: Friendly sessions where you can receive guidance and information without an appointment.
Our services are designed around your needs, offering a mixture of face-to-face, telephone, and digital support — making it easier to access help in a way that suits you best.

The Dementia Carers Hub is a partnership between three dedicated organisations: Age Concern Birmingham, Age UK Birmingham, and Dementia Carers Count.
Together, we are committed to improving the lives of Carers by offering practical support, specialist training, peer connection opportunities, and access to vital resources. This collaboration ensures that Dementia Carers across Birmingham receive expert, compassionate, and accessible support when they need it most.

Throughout Dementia Action Week, Birmingham Carers Hub will be hosting multiple events across the city, including:
– Drop-In Sessions: Meet our advisers for informal advice and support.
– Q&A Sessions: Ask your questions directly to our team of Dementia specialists.
– Awareness Sessions: Increase your understanding of Dementia and the support available.
– Information Pop-Ups: Find us at community locations for free resources and advice.
These events are open to all Carers supporting someone living with Dementia in Birmingham. Whether you have just started your caring journey or have been caring for many years, we are here to offer advice, resources, and a listening ear.
