Carer Skills & Opportunities Day: Your Next Chapter

Join us in person for Carer Skills & Opportunities Day and kick-start your next chapter with new tools and connections!
Carer Skills & Opportunities Day: Your Next Chapter
When you’re caring for someone, your own ambitions, education or career can sometimes have to take a back seat. Your Next Chapter is a free event designed to give unpaid Carers and ex- Carers the opportunity to focus on themselves and explore what could come next.
Has your caring role changed? Could now be the time to focus on you?
Maybe your child has started school and you have more time on your hands?
Are you a Young Adult Carer that may have struggled to combine caring and education, who is looking for a way to improve your skills/job prospects.
Whether you’re thinking about returning to learning, developing new skills, volunteering, finding work or simply building your confidence, come along and discover the support and opportunities available to you.
You’ll be able to meet organisations from across Birmingham offering:
- Adult learning and education
- Skills development and training
- Employment and careers support
- Volunteering opportunities
- Confidence and personal development
- Digital skills and lifelong learning
- Support with preparing for or returning to work
There’s no expectation that you know what you want to do next. The event is an informal opportunity to have conversations, ask questions and find out what opportunities might be right for you.
Who is it for?
The event is open to unpaid Carers, including Young Adult Carers, who would like to explore opportunities around learning, skills, volunteering or employment.
It may be particularly useful if your caring responsibilities have made it difficult to continue with education, develop your career or focus on your own goals.
